But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one – 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (ESV)

God is faithful. When times of trouble hit, which they will, He is faithful to strengthen us and protect us. We are all fighting a battle of some sort. The enemy wants to distract us from seeing God for who He really is and will use any tactic to shift our eyes away; family breakdown, financial stress, health challenges, accusations and lies spoken against us. The list goes on and on. But God is faithful and mighty to save. His hand is ever upon us.

Does that mean that we won’t be affected when the trouble comes? No, not at all because life doesn’t allow us to get through it unscathed. What it does mean, however, is that He will be there to strengthen us. If we allow Him, He will fill us with his peace. The peace that surpasses all understanding. He will protect our hearts from the evil one and remind us of his love.

Whatever it is that you are facing, don’t listen to the lies of the enemy that tells you God isn’t near, or that He doesn’t care. He is near. So very, very near. And He cares more than we can comprehend. Hold fast today to the truth that God has His eye on you and is with you every step of the way.

Prayer

Father, thank you that you are faithful and mighty to save. Thank you that in the day of trouble, I can be confident that you will be there to guard my heart and fill me with your peace. Help me to feel your presence, love and strength today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
