Minute Devotions – What’s your worth?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16 ESV

How much do you believe you are worth? Do you believe that you are valuable and worthy? Or do you believe that you are unimportant and not deserving of happiness and love? Many people find it hard to accept that they are valuable and worthy; worthy to be respected and loved and listened to and cared for. But you are worthy. You are valuable. You are important. How do I know this? Because Jesus lay down His life for you. Because God, the Creator of Heaven and earth, didn’t spare His Son but sent Him to the Cross so that He could have communion and eternity with YOU. Jesus loved you, still loves you, so much, that He sits on the right hand of the Father advocating for you, fighting for you and calling you home. That’s how important and valuable you are. He is for you because He thinks you are enough, but the question is, will you accept His love?

Heavenly Father, thank you that you love is so much that You sent your Son for us. Thank you for calling us Child and reaching down so that we would be reconciled to You. Lord, would you lift our eyes and help us to see ourselves how you see us, as fearfully and wonderfully made children in Your image, and would you help us to accept this beautiful gift of love that You so freely give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
