When I am afraid, I put my trust in you – Psalm 56:3 ESV
Trusting God is hard sometimes. I think we would all like to say that no matter what, we trust God, but sometimes, seasons are just hard. When everything feels like a fight, it can be hard to trust God and believe that He is for us. Some days, heaven is so silent that it feels like God doesn’t even care, let alone listen or fight for us.
But even when we can’t see it, or feel it, God is still working. And He still cares. The enemy would have us believe otherwise, but that’s a lie that we can’t believe. Me being unable to see or feel it doesn’t change the truth; God does love us, is there and is fighting for us. And so in the midst of uncertainty and fear and disappointment, I will trust Him. I will choose to trust Him. I will determine to believe that He is good and that He can be trusted to be faithful again and again. Because that is who He is.
Father, thank you that you are faithful and that when I am afraid, I can run to you and put my trust in You. Thank you that even when we can’t see or hear You, You’re still working and fighting for us. Today, and every other day, Lord, I choose to trust You. In Jesus’s name, amen.
