Remember.
Our memory is an interesting thing. It can retain so much, yet it can so easily forget, or block, so much. I don’t know about you, but in times of stress or heartache, my mind tends to hold onto the … Continue reading Remember.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him – Psalm 34:8 Have you ever come across a meal or a drink that looked a bit sketchy and you were uncertain whether you wanted to try it, but then when you did, you’re surprised by how good it tastes. This is how I see this verse sometimes. Things happen or life throws you a curve-ball and you look at God and surrendering everything to Him can seem uncertain and a bit sketchy. I find myself wondering what would happen if I let … Continue reading Taste and See
What does love look like to you? I’ve been thinking about love recently. Not the romantic kind of love, but the love that we extend to others and that others extend to us. The daily love and grace that we … Continue reading The love of the Father
There are a lot of hurting people around. The last few weeks, as I’ve looked around, I have seen so much hurt and pain. I see my own hurt and pain. I see the pain of those around me. I … Continue reading Hurt and hope
What is the purpose of this, Lord? The other morning as I was driving I was listening to Rend Collectives song Live Alive. As I listening and hummed along to a song I’ve heard countless times before, one line captured … Continue reading The purpose is His Glory
It is hard to trust God sometimes. Having courage when we are faced with hard decisions is also difficult at times. As believers, we are to trust God and show courage in the face of hard decisions and situations, but that is easier said than done. But God, in His kindness, knowing we would struggle with this, gave us people in the bible to look to for inspiration and encouragement. One of those people is Ruth. Trust and courage in the face of hard decisions. I love the book of Ruth in the bible. It is a story many of … Continue reading Trust and courage
Christmas can easily become about celebrating and festivities, but we need to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Continue reading Remembering that Jesus is the reason for the season
God loves us as He finds us, just as we are. Have you ever found yourself listening to a song only to have the lyrics take your breath away? When lyrics hit home so deeply that you feel like someone has taken your journal and turned it into a song? The other day as I listened to ‘As you find me’ by Hillsong United some of the lyrics hit home and put words to things I have been feeling recently: I have wrestled and I have trembled toward surrender Chased my heart adrift and drifted home again …… And every … Continue reading Sounds of Worship: As you find me.
I enjoy spending time in nature. Being in nature reminds me of God’s awesomeness and creativity. I especially find myself in awe and wonder when I am sitting by the ocean or am standing on a mountaintop. Earlier this year, I found myself looking out at the Andes Mountains, in Chile, and I was struck by their magnificence. They took my breath away. These beautiful mountains that sat as an amazing backdrop to Santiago were incredibly huge and majestic. No matter which angle you looked them from, you couldn’t help but be struck by their presence. I found … Continue reading Reflecting Jesus.
I’m a flawed person. This revelation likely isn’t a surprise to anyone, except maybe my mamma, who happens to think I’m the most amazing woman to ever walk the earth (thanks, Ma!) Like most people, I have many flaws and faults. I’ve said and done things that have left me questioning my own sanity. I’ve unintentionally hurt people by my actions and I’ve disappointed people with some of my choices. And I’ve not only stumbled while journeying with Jesus, I’ve tripped and fallen and rolled down the hill! While these flaws and repeated failures have taught me valuable lessons, they … Continue reading Running to the arms of the Father
