Minute Devotions

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1‭-‬2

I lift my eyes to the hills. So often when I pray, I find myself lifting my face up to the heavens, trying to posture my mind and heart towards God. Why? Because I know that He is there. It’s hard to grasp sometimes, the fact that the Maker of heaven and earth is there for us. The One that spoke the world into being, is mindful of us and helps us. When we call on Him, he answers.

But God loves us with an ever lasting love, and His love knows no bounds. In times of plenty and in times of pain, He is there, shining His face upon us and pouring out his love. In times of heartache, He pours out his peace and comfort. And each morning, as we rise to face another day, His mercies are new and available to us.

And, so. Today, let’s confidently lift our eyes to the hills. Let’s look up towards heaven, knowing that He hears us, sees us, and has his loving hands outstretched for us to take.
