Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid – John 14:27
In a world that promotes instant gratification, craziness and endless to-do lists, peace can be hard to come by. It’s even harder to come by when our own personal world is thrown into chaos. But if there is one place we can find peace and rest from the storm, it’s at the feet of Jesus.
Jesus offers us a peace that can’t be found anywhere else; not in relationships or religion or anything else that can be purchased or consumed. He offers a peace that helps us to stand strong in the chaos because it’s grounded in Him. It’s grounded in the knowledge that He is all seeing and all knowing and all powerful and calm even the mightiest of storms. So today, let’s sit at His feet. Let’s seek His peace. Let’s seek His face and rest in the knowledge that the Creator of the universe has us firmly in His grasp.
Lord, thank you for the peace that only comes from You. The peace that surpasses all understanding and that anchors us in the storms. Father, would you please give us your peace today and every other day as we face this world and the daily struggles. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
