Talking with strangers.

I have spent a lot of my time travelling these past few weeks. Since the first of January I travelled to Cambodia via Singapore, back to Australia via Vietnam, then over to Orlando, Florida, which is where I am now. River wild.

It’s 5:20 am on Saturday morning in Cambodia and I am wide awake. I have been awake since around 4am when some nice little ant-like critters decided to take up residence in my bed and just bite me over and over again, so I abandoned any ideas of more sleep and got up. A sense of responsibility.

Oh, Cambodia, how I have missed you. I am back in Cambodia for the second time in three months and I am as happy as a pig in mud. The little girl who left me broken-hearted

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved children. If I’m out and about and see a fat little baby, all I want to do is pick them up and snuggle. One of my favourite things to do is sit at my brother’s house and snuggle with my little baby nephew, Frankie, while watching Sophie and Aidan, his brother and sister, play. Perspective.

If you have ever been on a plane, you know how small things look from up in the air. Everything takes on a different size; the buildings that seemed impossibly high from the ground become minuscule little dots on the ground. Our perspective shifts because everything looks different from up high and it is a good reminder of how big this world is and how small we actually are. It’s 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon and I am sitting in a funky little café in New Orleans, drinking coffee and people watching. LA Story – Into the yonder.

Los Angeles. The place where people come to be famous. The home of Hollywood and Disneyland. This is where the pretty people come to be someone; to become somebody and have their name in lights.
