“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

If there is one verse in the bible that makes me smile, it’s Zephaniah 3:17. The thought of God, the Creator of heaven and earth, singing over me, just settles my spirit. It’s hard to imagine someone as powerful and mighty as our God singing over us, but that is who He is; all knowing and all powerful, whilst being a gentle, kind and loving Father.

He delights is us. He delights in you. What a beautiful picture! God, holding us in his arms, singing over us with a smile on his face. That is the God I know. That is my Jesus; the Mighty One who defeated death yet tenderly holds our hearts in his hands. Today, whatever you are facing, lift your face to the One who delights in you and sings over you, and feel His love upon you.

Father, thank you for Your tender love and care. That You would love us so much that You would sing over us is more than we can imagine or deserve, but we thank you for your gracious love. Help us to lift our eyes and hearts to You today. In Jesus’s name, amen.
